What is "Study Skills For
Success"?
Study Skills for Success is an exciting, new course aimed at 14-18
year-olds. Using proven methods it teaches students how to
get
higher marks for their schoolwork and how to pass GCSEs and how to pass
A Levels with better grades, by teaching
them how to learn effectively.
Why
Pay For Extra Curricular Lessons in Study Skills?
With competition at its highest for places at good universities, many
students find that a course in study skills is just what they need to
give them that vital edge, and boost their exam results. Exam
success has never mattered more than it does today, and with the
Governments's aim of getting 50% of school leavers into Higher
Education, this fierce competition is unlikely to abate.
Schools find that, within the framework of the National Curriculum,
they do not have the time or the flexibility to teach cross-curricular
topics such as study skills. They have to focus on
subject-based
learning to ensure that every topic on a two-year syllabus has been
covered within the allotted time
Sometimes schools offer handouts to students, outlining study skills
techniques, but this is never as effective as a structured, practical
session led by an experienced teacher.
What
is Your Unique Learning Style?
By identifying whether you are a visual, auditory or kinaesthetic
learner you will live up to your potential; your learning will become
more effective and more efficient. Don't work harder - work
smarter!
"Once I'd realised that I was a visual learner," said Tom, aged 14, "I
started using the note-taking techniques I'd learnt in Study Skills to
help me revise for my exams, and was really pleased with my results."
